Where to start..... I became interested in music since I was very
young as most people but got right into the rave scence around 1994
when the likes of Bass Generator and Ultra Sonic etc were giving
large around the UK especially in my homeland with the massive
parties in Edinburgh called the Rez. 24hr parties full of Happy
people on the same level as each other.
I Bought my first set of belt
drive decks, mixer and records in 1995. Started to listen to the
famous Bonus-Beats on Forth FM hosted by the late Tom Wilson. I could
say he was a massive influence to myself and others out there in the UK.
I used to listen to how DJ's went about there sets and tried to
incorporate into my mixes.
Never actually managed to get out and DJ
'giging' been around but never a weekly or monthly thing. I suppose I
could put it down to confidence as younger back then.
Anyway by the 21st century had a big pile of records ranging
from Hardcore to Funky House a few tapes of mixes and a couple of
House parties under my belt. I felt I had a good understanding of Dance/
House Music, its origins and layout of tracks.
So off I went to college to learn more about the making of Dance genre
Music at a local college. As nowadays most things can be done by
using software on basic to hi spec computers.
While at college learned the basics of Sound Recording in studios, the
basic knowledge of the music law the do's and dont's also using software
on PC's. In my time used Reason, Wavelab and Cubase software more in
depth with Reason software which I find the easiest and best software
program I have used. I know others will have there own views and prefered
programs.... anyway for the past few years have turned the passion into
a hobby due to working and having a beautiful family three girls, Lisa
my partner, Leah and Kelsea our two babies....
so, as I was saying - was
making music trying to use all the influences in my time trying to create
different sounds for each track I created. During this time have done the
odd remix with pellas I like and give it a different sound to the original.
I am biased as I think all my stuff is great but others will have there
own perspective. If you want to hear and have your say about my tunes then
check out AUDIO for the tunes and you can e-mail me at pnotman@gmail.com
and leave a message on the Guestbook. Thank-you for your time and enjoy
the site. :o) |
